Maybe if we, as American youth, hadn’t been brainwashed in the education system and instead was taught the basics (Geography!) we wouldn’t have had to question why we have elected this individual in the first place.

As a libertarian, I believe that the answer to the immigration problem is not to stop the flow of immigrants but to have each of us play by the same rules. I have no problem with immigrants coming to America for a “piece of the pie”. What I do have a problem with is immigrants sneaking in the backdoor (cutting in front of all of the other immigrants that are lawfully playing by the rules). No sooner do illegal immigrants arrive but then begin playing the victim card. (Did someone drag them here against their will?) What other country allows unfettered immigration? I know that our neighbors to the south have a very strict immigration policy and those trying to enter illegally through their border are dealt with very harshly. Therefore since everyone knows that all countries regulate their immigration (that I’m aware of), why are we the SOB’s?
Liberals want unfettered immigration because they derive power from those that they can exploit. Democrat politicians receive their power by making people dependent. The more people they make dependent, the more power they receive. How do the Democrats make people dependent? Democrats make people dependent by getting people hooked on government. Welfare and government programs are the methods to which they get people hooked. A young, uneducated and unskilled workforce need a lot of (government) services and the Democrats are pushers of that addiction. The Democrats know if they can just get them here they can get them hooked on the government drug…I mean services. That is the exact reason they push for the take-over of the private sector because they know that once they control your job, you will never risk your livelihood by voting for someone who might take it away.
Look at Greece as an example, the government has offered so much compensation to government employees that it is now going broke but no one is willing to take the cuts that are needed (and they’re voters).
Back to the point…we are told that illegal immigrants are doing jobs that Americans are not willing to do. That is true of course -- because they do menial labor that pays very little. The reason their pay is so small is that the immigrants are unskilled and uneducated plus the employers are taking the risk of employing them therefore they have to make it worth their while. Employers are continuing to employ the illegals because they can avoid paying the large amount of other costs that they would have to pay had they hired a “legal” American. I find this ironic considering that skyrocketing costs of hiring legal employees is due to Democratic lawmakers. So Democrats are actually encouraging the hiring of illegals (which are off the books) and away from the soaring costs of hiring legal workers. Additionally, legal workers pay (through taxes) for the social and educational services of illegals.
The libertarian solution to the problem is to take away all government-run social services (for everyone) and make sure that all companies play by the same rules. The incentives disappear for hiring illegal employees and we are able to have a more open border to those that still want to come (and are not doing so on the backs of taxpayers). What I find strange is the Department of Labor Secretary (a Liberal) is under fire by conservatives for producing (with taxpayer funds) a public service announcement stating that essentially illegals should come forward and complain if an employer is not paying them a fair wage. Conservatives are understandably upset in that the DOL is not only not denouncing illegals taking jobs but encouraging them to demand more pay. I believe however that this is a liberal misstep. The liberal Democrats are merely looking at the commercial as a way of confirming their commitment to illegal immigrants and to being the (eventual) party of choice. The problem (the misstep) is that they don’t consider the role of the employer. The employers are not anti-legal Americans, they are pro-profit. Democrats are only looking at the needs of the illegals (because they represent a potential voting block) but they really could care less about the companies. Companies are playing along because they are looking to avoid paying the high salaries and other costs of hiring legal Americans. By insisting that companies pay illegals a “living wage” it makes hiring illegals less attractive. Experts say that the DOL wants to allow illegals to take companies to court to recover lost wages and punitive damages for not paying the going rate (that legal citizens make). This is a major misstep. Why would companies hire illegals if they have to pay the same amount as they would a legal resident (especially if they face punitive actions)? I believe that conservatives are playing the wrong hand on this one. Conservatives should encourage illegals to demand fair wages and benefits. Just how well would an illegal compete with an educated high school American doing the same job for the same money (who is at no risk of being deported)?
